Ethos and Values

Donington on Bain Primary School is an inclusive school committed to the safeguarding of all our pupils. It has a rich culture and a strong identity as an inclusive school where each child is encouraged to be the very best that they can be. We aim to provide a friendly, happy environment in which our children feel safe and valued. We encourage our pupils to recognise their abilities and we expect them to work hard and achieve well. Our priority is to deliver high quality teaching and learning whilst at the same time providing a rich and enjoyable learning experience for our children. Everything we do as a school is to ensure that the children achieve their very best.

    At Donington on Bain Primary School we:-

  • Acknowledge children as individuals and recognise that all children learn in their own unique way.

  • Have respect and tolerance for the experiences, knowledge and cultural diversity that every child brings to school.

  • Provide an engaging curriculum based on the National Curriculum and Foundation Stage Curriculum that is broad, balanced and appropriately challenging.

  • Offer all children equal access to the curriculum and school life in the community where individual differences are appreciated, celebrated, understood and accepted;

  • Encourage children to become good citizens, by developing caring attitudes and respect towards themselves, and others both within their school and the wider community.

  • Encourage each individual to take responsibility for his/her behaviour and to act as a good role model to others.

  • Include the wider community, where parents and carers feel engaged and included.

     

We want every child to feel accepted and valued for who they are, with the confidence to take risks, explore new learning and be successful to achieve their goals.
