Inspire, Enrich, Achieve

Music is a very important subject as it allows children to express themselves in different ways. Music is taught on a weekly basis throughout the school. We aim to provide many different opportunities to enjoy and promote music throughout the curriculum and assemblies.

We have a school choir led by Mrs Pringle. Every Christmas our choir goes on tour to entertain residents at local care homes. They have also taken part in the Louth Choir Festival.

At Donington on Bain Primary School, all Year 5 and 6 pupils receive tuition in violin or cello from the Lincolnshire Schools Music Service.

Through our involvement with the Lincolnshire Schools Music Service, the children have performed not only at the school but at other events around the county. A particular highlight was playing with the Halle Orchestra when they visited Lincolnshire.

In addition to curriculum music lessons children can opt to have private tuition. This is provided by the Local Authority. If you are interested in your child having private lessons please contact the school office - 01507 343240. If your child is entitled to means tested Free School Meals there may be a reduction in the cost.
